Family friendly things to do in Dublin?
Anyone done a family trip to Dublin?

Taking the family (girls are ages 5 and 3) in August.

Any (sensible) suggestions would be appreciated.

Been to Tayto Park with the kids and their Irish cousins ... Ok if under 10 and hardly a theme park merely a playground with a museum type place linked to the factory. Tayto were the first to add flavour to potato crisps !!

Out of curiosity I decided to Google tayto park seeing as so many recommended it

Truly I thought that was a wind up. TAYTO park, you couldn't make that shit up. Potato themed rides. It's like an Alan partridge brain fart into his dictafone that got taken up.

If you have a car then Wicklow is worth a drive and treat yourself to a pint at Johnny Foxes. Get the kids an ice cream in Scrumdiddlies in Dun Laoghaire

Definitely do the Viking tour. Kids will love it and it's decent for the adults as well.

Tayto park is great day as well and only 30 min drive from you

If you want to have a few beers and some decent reasonable grub with the kids this place is very kid friendly and has a no music policy and loads of games for the kids to play with. It's full at the weekends for lunch with parents with kids and buggys etc but still a decent pub that you and the missus will enjoy

I'll ask my brothers who all have young kids for some other things to do.

Dublin zoo is decent.

Tayto park is VG

The national aquatic centre would be a bit of fun as well.

There's also a Viking splash tour, it's like s boat on wheels that drives around the city centre and then goes into the river Liffey.

Where are you staying?

Go to the cafe were Sir Roger Casement lived up to his name by bumming dozens of fenian teenagers

Father of twentieth-century human rights? Yeah right, a slippery, filthy Hun collaborator who betrayed his country and was damn well hung (no pun intended).

I'm bored today.

Go to the park. It's mahoosive. And there is a zoo there, botanical gardens, cafes etc...

There's Dublinia. Never been there but it's an historical recreation centre - dressing up, archery, fighting...

Visit the big waterpark - can't remember what it's called

The National Gallery is pretty impressive, depends on your children

Train rides around the bay? Boat trips?

Guinness Storehouse - the children can't have a free pint, but it's an interactive museum with family passes
